Rankings
Not just a directory
We don’t just collect data and display it on our website. We are not aiming to be a simple BJJ club directory, a flat list of names and addresses. We assess, analyse, and rank. We use data to help practitioners find the best clubs for their needs, and we give clubs with better data more visibility.
Assessment
We assess clubs with the data we have. We combine it with data from other datasets (e.g. web presence, user engagement) and infer new insights. Completeness, accuracy, and recency all matter. The output is a clearer picture of what each club offers and how it compares to others in the area.
Ranking score
We give each club a proprietary ranking score. This score is what determines their positioning in our app: where they appear in search results, on location pages, and in recommendations. We don’t publish the exact formula, but we can say: more complete data, verified information, and engagement all contribute positively.
Data quality and placement
We show data based mainly on rankings. We give better app real estate to clubs who have more complete data on our system. The better quality and more complete the data, the higher positions we will place them. We can make better decisions, and give users better recommendations, when we have more to work with. This encourages clubs to claim their profile, keep it updated, and provide the information practitioners need.
